Having a storage space under your roof is all well and good, but how will you access it effectively? Deciding early on what type of hatch and loft ladder you want will ensure you get an access that is fit for purpose.
Loft insulation
Most houses already have some form of roof insulation, but if you’re going to store boxes and other valuable items in your loft, you want to make sure that it is properly insulated to avoid damage due to humidity. New insulation could also help you save money on energy bills when winter comes, so well worth the investment.
Loft boarding
Think about how much of your loft you’d like to use for storage. The more space you create with loft boards, the more heat loss you’ll prevent, while potentially increasing the value of your home! It’s a no brainer really.
